Who this visa is for

• You want to visit the UK for a holiday, to see family or friends, or for a business trip.
• You need to come for a short course of study or private medical treatment.
• You are from a country whose nationals need a visa before travelling to the UK.

Key requirements

• You must show you will leave the UK at the end of your visit.
• You must be able to support yourself and pay for your return or onward journey.
• You cannot work, live in the UK through frequent visits, or claim public funds.
• Some nationalities can visit without a visa but may need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) instead.
